The photographs (see
below) of the refit of the main Hall at the Long
Mynd Camp show how we were able to transform a previous
elderly age damaged structure into a clean, modern, energy
efficient building, whilst maintaining the original character
of the building, set in the pleasant surroundings of the
Shropshire Hills.
This was a joint project
with Absolute Construction and the Camp committee working
together to achieve the maximum benefit from a tightly
controlled budget, as the monies were raised via various
charitable donations and grants by the Camp committee.
The work specifications
were adapted and changed as the project progressed in
order to create maximum benefit for the groups of children
who will come from urban areas in coming years to gain
experience of the beautiful Shropshire countryside. Particular
emphasis was made on reducing the Camp’s energy
bills by utilising modern insulation techniques and materials.
